Christmas Buffet in Florida
My, don't they look merry?!
Some buffet diners.
What Ruth had for lunch. (Prime Rib, pot roast, potatoes, rutabega (sp?)and carrots, green beans, Western casserole, chicken and dressing and some fruit salad which was eaten before I remembered to take the photo!

One of the many painted horses around Ocala. This was in the Hilton entrance-way.
Peggy makes a new friend.
As Peggy was about to pull away from the horse the carriage driver warned that he might nip and that he was a typical southern "boob man!" At any rate, we had a delicious meal and a very nice Christmas. Merle appreciates that Fred and David called to wish him Merry Christmas. Thanks everyone!
Oh, I did find Peggy's candle here at home when I returned. She'll get it one of these days!

12-11 Newport News Photos
All of the VA trip photos are available in my photos on Facebook. Most of them are of Merle's family. Here are a few others.
Here is Cheryl showing me some of the fabric she wants in her new quilt.
Merle and I
We brought Bucky home today. Merle was so anxious to get him that we went there before we even came home to unpack.
Hugs to all,
Mom

Our 19th Anniversary
Thanks everyone for the anniversary wishes! The budget has been tight, but we scrimped and saved so that we could go out to our one yearly night out to a fancy restaurant. Usually we go to The Melting Pot, but this year we decided to try the Ipanema Brazilian Steak House. It was great!
They have a very nice salad bar with over 40 items on it. The Brazilian potato salad and the tabbouleh salad where really good...not to mention the sauteed mushrooms! Oh and let me not forget the sliced tomatoes with fresh basil and fresh mozzarella...yum! They brought some fries and small biscuit rounds to the table with cinnamon sugar crusted bananas too.
Once you are ready for the meat feast to begin, you turn over the card on your table so the Gauchos (men carrying different meats on skewers) will know to stop at your table to offer you some. We tried all sorts of different meats like bottom round, top round, prime rib, Parmesan crusted pork loin, chicken wrapped in bacon, lamb chops, and the grilled pineapple crusted with cinnamon sugar was delish!! This is a never ending supply of meat until you say enough is enough.
When I made our reservation, I told them that it was our anniversary so at the end when we were having coffee, they brought us this very pretty piece of cake on the house. Of course, we were stuffed by then so we just took two small bites and brought the rest home for later. Those are some talented people writing Happy Anniversary first in caramel and then over it again in chocolate!
