Hurricane Update

I just talked to Cheryl.  Everything there is fine overall.  She doesn't think that this one is as bad as Isabelle was when we lived there in the house on Foxhill.  They still have power...just a few flickers so far outage wise.

Any news from those in NC?

My computer crashed today so I had to go steal this photo off Fred's Facebook page. This is a side of Fred I'd never seen before.

Speaking of Temperatures...

Above is the temperature of 101 degrees on my front porch (covered/shaded) at 1 pm this afternoon. I wondered what the temperature was out in the sunshine so I placed the thermometer on the ramp railing just outside the porch door. Sorry the temps are hard to read, but it's the best I could do.

At 3 pm when I went out to get the mail it read 113 degrees.

When I got back from checking the mail (took maybe two minutes) it read 116 degrees.

At 4 pm when I went to check it again it was at 131 degrees and rising! I decided that was enough testing and brought it back inside. Of course you have to realize that when I put it on the ramp railing it was In direct sunlight and facing west toward the lowering sun -- nevertheless............ IT'S HOT IN FLORIDA TOO!
