David & Chunnan's Hot Tub Update

As mentioned previously, we got a hot tub. It was installed Thursday afternoon and when I got home Friday it was up to it's top settng of 104 degrees...perfect! I jumped in for about a half-hour and then took these pictures to share with y'all. It lights up in any of six colors including blue (pictured), green, red, orange, teal, and white.

David & Chunnan's Kitten Update

I've been asked to post some new pictures of the cats so here you go. Click the pics for full-sized images.

This is Movado and Montega sqeezed into a little box...they seem to love it there.

And this is all three cats on our bed. Tag Heuer finally warmed up to them and he's been seen wrestling with Montega and grooming Movado.

Renita and Meghan Checking In

Yesterday Fred asked me what happened to Renita and Meghan so I emailed them for an update. Here are their replies:

Hey!
Nothing is up really. The blog site wasn't good for my computer. I didn't have much to respond to and I quit going to the site. Then, my computer crashed. I wound up getting a new computer. Perhaps this one has enough memory that I could go back to the site again.

I'm glad you wrote because I don't have anybody's addresses when my computer crashes. I probably ought to write those things down sometime. I have a friend who gave me a wonderful idea on that score. She says she prints off her address book once a month and that way she makes sure she has everybody's address. If I had everybody's address that I wanted for sure I'd certainly do that ASAP.

Everything is great here otherwise. We are having a niece come from Detroit (she's also in the Coast Guard) for Thanksgiving. That's really nice. I've been campaigning to get her and Mark's sisters to come ever since we moved here. Both my siblings have been here.

We are finishing up on the basement project finally. It is looking really good down there. We need to get some new carpet to really finish it off nicely and we want to make an escape window. However, those two things will have to wait until we can get some money saved up again.

Thanks in advance for the pillow top that goes with the quilt. That'll be nice. I really do love that quilt. I only wish I was as good at that as you are. I'm practicing and I'm sure that helps. I've not ever done any of the stitch quilting thus far. I've only done tied quilts. I mostly don't have the confidence to try stitching quilting.

I'll let Meghan know that you want to have another Scrabble game. I'm sure she's up for it.

More later,
Renita

-----------

Hi

I haven't been on the computer much. Blogging just kind of went to the back of my mind and I haven't been on in a while.

I would like to start a new scrabble game.

Love,
Meghan

Quilts and Things

Today I went to the Springhouse 2005 Quilt Show. The photo posted here is the "Best in Show" choice by the judges. Can't say as I agree. I don't know which one won "Viewer's Choice", but I don't think it would be that one. You can go to Snapfish to view all the photos of the quilt show.

On another subject, I've noticed that our progressive stories seem to have come to a standstill. Has everyone's creative juices stopped flowing, or have you forgotten about adding a line or two now and then? Anyone can participate.

Bring Your Swimsuits

Hi everyone. Chunnan and I have purchased a hot tub and it will be installed on Nov 17th. So, everyone coming to Seattle for our gather ing at Thanks-Christmas needs to bring their bathing suits so they can enjoy the warm bubbly relaxing spa.

These are some pictures of the spa we're getting. It's a Jetsetter model from Hot Springs Spas. It's meant for two persons but I've seen images of three people in it (though it looks a little crowded). We're having it installed on our deck off the kitchen and the final plan is to have the deck enclosed in a sunroom, but that will have a wait a little while as it's been tough finding a contractor to do that work. We also just discovered that we probibly need a new roof so the finances are a little more cramped than expected right now.

See you all in...what...10 days? Wow, the holiday's getting here fast!

Bridge Day

The weekend of October 15th, we went to visit John and Amy at their apartment in Charleston WV. On Saturday, we went to Bridge Day which is an annual event in that area. They close off the highway that crosses the New River Gorge, and people parachute off the bridge. They have at least 400 people to jump each year. Sometimes they jump 2 and 3 at a time. They usually land on the beach by the river, but some end up in the river. So there are boats to pick them up when that happens. And of course, there is the occasional person that lands in a tree. It was the coolest thing to watch – we had a great time.

On Sunday, we visited John and Amy’s church. It was Pastor Appreciation Sunday, so each of the pastors were honored, including John!! John’s church is nice and the people are friendly. It was really good spending the weekend with them. They were very good hosts!!

Pictures - one on the bridge and the other at John's apartment.

White Family Status Change

Just wanted to inform you that Dave and I have separated. And I figured this was the easiest way to let everyone know at once. He moved out around the 1st of August. We are doing good, just lots of adjusting to do. I will be keeping the house. We are doing joint custody with Keven. So far, we are all doing as well as can be expected. Keven seems to be handling this very well, however it is still very new. So we are trying to keep him talking about things and letting him know that he needs to tell us everything he is feeling. Keven is our number one priority.

Anyway, your thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated during this time!!

Christmas Wish List

Momma, I happen to know who has your name for Christmas and this person tells me all of your requests are bad links or something like that. Can you post more requests here for this person to look for. Thanks

Also this blog will almost do away wqith the need for Cheryl and Dave, except for the name drawing part. After that everybody can just post thier wish lists here.

As Your Words Flow

Whatever you say, wherever you go,
someone is listening as your words flow.
The person you are, the views you share,
the love you have that shows you care,
it all comes forth in what you say,
or what you write along the way.
So, be cretive, be gentle and kind,
be bold or adventurous, but always find
a way to show love and faith and hope
in a world where so many just can't cope.
Never allow the words you share
to hurt or anger, defy or dare.
Treat others as you would want to be treated.
Say nothing to make them feel defeated.
Build them up. Don't tear them down.
You too may need friends as life turns around.
So let your words smile, and laugh, and play;
then save a few and kneel and pray!
